Roswell is the Gateway to Southeast New Mexico.
Roswell’s an eclectic community with a strong economic base of agriculture, oil and gas, and aviation. That base is overlaid with an extensive network of professionals in the fields of law and medicine. In addition, the community is blessed with talented artisans as seen in two world-class art museums and a vibrant music scene that includes a symphony and an annual Jazz Festival.
The future of Roswell requires us to build on all these assets and strengths, and aviation helps lead the way. Roswell Air Center is the former Walker Air Force Base and offers unique business opportunities in the areas of aircraft maintenance, repair, overhaul, storage and painting. Daily passenger air service to Phoenix and Dallas ensures the entire region is connected to the whole world.
Recent upgrades in water-system infrastructure, including a high-tech water-meter reading system, exemplify a commitment to update our critical facilities and components. This is further demonstrated with the recently opened Roswell Recreation and Aquatic Center that includes a competition-quality indoor pool and a basketball/volleyball area large enough for indoor soccer, as well.
Meanwhile, the downtown Convention and Civic Center recently had an $8 million overhaul and expansion. New hotels are under construction and/or in the planning phases.
Roswell has a bright future with a strong group of community leaders committed to enhancing the economic activity and quality of life. Come check us out!
