Lajuana Martinez,
Aka “The Captain”
Owner/President

Lajuana has more than 30 years of experience in sales, advertising and marketing across Southeastern New Mexico and Texas.  The Hobbs native holds a degree in business from Eastern New Mexico University and is the proud founder of Ad Venture Marketing, which was recently named as one of the “Top Five Advertising Agencies” in the state of New Mexico by the New Mexico Business Weekly.

Lajuana currently resides in Texas, but she spends a lot of time visiting the many beautiful Focus communities of Southeastern New Mexico. She has very much enjoyed seeing the Focus brand spread to several new locations and enjoys working with her enthusiastic marketing consultants and editorial directors.

Staci Guy, Associate Publisher
Editorial Director – Focus on Artesia

Staci is a proud Artesia native! After spending time in Albuquerque, Lubbock and San Antonio, TX, she returned to the City of Champions in 2005 after the birth of her first child.  She is also a proud Red Raider, having graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in public relations with a minor in marketing.  She started her post-college career in sales before segueing into journalism, public relations and marketing. She knew from an early age that she wanted to be a writer, so landing a gig as an editorial director and associate director for a high-quality print magazine was a dream come true for her!

When she’s not putting together magazines, Staci enjoys crafting, reading, gardening, and yelling from the stands of her children’s sporting events.

Kyle Marksteiner,
Focus on Carlsbad – Editorial Director

A Texas native, Kyle obtained a bachelor’s degree in sociology and communications from Trinity University in San Antonio.  He’s spent most of his two-decade professional career in Carlsbad, where he’s worked in every media medium imaginable. Kyle loves writing for Focus because it is a chance to professionally ask questions about interesting things going on around town that have caught his curiosity, and because he really enjoys working puns into headlines.

Kyle spends most of his free time taking his daughter to dance and martial arts practice, attempting (keyword: attempting) to make repairs to his home, reading, and volunteering with various organizations around town.

Molly Marley,
Focus on Roswell – Editorial Director

Originally a Ft. Worth native, Molly Marley earned her degree in studio art from Texas Christian University, and she has taught art in Fort Worth and Roswell.

It took meeting her husband, a fellow TCU horned frog originally from Roswell, to make the move out of her beloved neighborhood all the way to New Mexico. A fish out of water at first, Molly has enjoyed getting involved in and learning about the New Mexico way of life, while enjoying time with her children.

Her hobbies include spending time with family, traveling, reading, baking and crafting. Luck is sometimes on Molly’s side: When she was in 5th grade, she won three class baskets at her elementary school’s auction (including the coveted Beanie Baby basket) with only three raffle tickets.

Adrian Martinez,
Business Manager
Director – Focus on Lea County

Hobbs native Adrian Martinez has been with Ad Venture Marketing since 2002, and she has seen all aspects of the business. She started in sales, then moved into business development before taking on the position of Business manager. Adrian has served on numerous boards over the years and currently is a member of the Salvation Army of Lea County board of directors.

In her free time, Adrian enjoys volunteering, travelling, cooking and spending time with her family.

Johnnie Lujan, Marketing Director – Roswell

After graduating from Roswell High, Johnnie embarked on a journey that took him to places like Amarillo, Burbank and Albuquerque. During this journey, he began working in the entertainment industry, both behind the scenes and in front. He joined the Screen Actors’ Guild in 2007 (ask him about his movies!). His talent for videography is quite often on display on our Focus Facebook pages. Johnnie believes his love for his hometown and its economic development makes him a good fit for Ad Venture Marketing and Focus on Roswell.

Rachel Hughes,
Marketing Consultant/Advertising Sales – Carlsbad

Carlsbad resident Rachel Hughes is a die-hard Texas Tech Red Raider fan who grew up in Boerne, Texas. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing from Texas Tech University. Her previous experience includes management, retail sales and escrow.

Rachel and her husband, Cas, love spending time with their young children. In her free time, Rachel enjoys painting, cooking, racquetball, pickleball and golf. What is pickleball? Call Rachel and ask her! She’s also volunteered with the Special Olympics for many years and is a member of the Chamber Ambassadors.

Jessica Addington,
Marketing Consultant/Photographer/Staff Writer

Jessica is a native Artesia girl. She received her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Eastern New Mexico University in 2011 and spent several years working in her family’s insurance and accounting business. She has a passion for photography and has been snapping photos of families, kiddos, weddings and other events for several years now.

Jesssica and her husband are proud parents to a family of girls. When she’s not working, she enjoys music, fashion, travel, cooking and writing. Writing and taking photos for a magazine has been a little dream of hers since she was in grade school and she is grateful to get to use her experience in photography to share stories of life, love and the exciting things happening in southeast NM.

Daniel Zamarron,
Advertising Sales – Artesia/Lea County

Daniel is another hometown boy! He grew up in Artesia and enjoys working in the community he loves. He worked as an account executive for Ricoh and Pitney Bowes, where he gained invaluable sales experience. He also did a stint in the banking industry before joining the sales force in the oil and gas industry as a specialist for Victaulic. His years of sales experience provide Focus Magazine customers with an informed professional capable of helping them get the most out of their advertising dollars.

Outside of work, Daniel enjoys playing golf, coaching his children’s sports teams, showing off his grilling skills and spending time with his friends and family. He is a foster parent and a board member of the Artesia Country Club.
